A cold pool is an unused pool, warm it up and the whole family are in every day. Calyenty was created by Oliver Reavey in 2004 and was joined by David Brown having for some time evaluated the subject and challenge of efficient, economical and ecological swimming pool heating with several years experience with solar heating.

Market research has revealed that property owners with swimming pools would like to have a more consistent temperature in their pool, and to extend their swimming season significantly.

A pool is a large investment and it seems a shame that for most of the year it is unused as it is too cold and uncomfortable to swim in.

Also if the property is to rent, a heated pool is a far more attractive proposition for your tenants over others without.

Conventional fuel types such as gas or electric are now out of the question due to the huge running expenses and their poor carbon footprint. Considerable work has been done with solar heating systems but we feel they are flawed for the following reasons:

They only perform well when there is strong sunlight, which usually coincides with when pool heating is least required.
Panels or matrices used in such systems are very large and ugly and can spoil the appearance of your property.
They are difficult, expensive and disruptive to install,
Prone to leakage
High in maintenance costs.

The market research that we have done regarding demand, and the available products, has resulted in the conclusion that by far the best method of heating your swimming pool today is by using an efficient heat pump.

Heat pumps:

Provide effective and consistent heat.
Economical to run.
Low investment.
Reliable.
Low maintenance.
Small and unobtrusive.
Ecologically very efficient.
Simple to install,

We have been fortunate to find a small Chinese based company that we are now working with to produce a heat pump that is truly the leader in its class. Our partners in China started a company with technicians that came from one of the worlds largest manufacturers of air conditioners, and consequently have vast experience with designing and building heat exchanging units in a region where demand for, and use of this technology has been huge for many years. We have now helped them refine the product to fit neatly into the European pool heating market.

In summary: Calyenty Eco. Heat Pumps provides up to 1/3 greater output for a similar power consumption compared to most other heat pumps available in the market today at a similar price. For example: to maintain a temperature of 27.5° C in a 8m x 4m (24ft x 12ft) pool using a Calyenty RBH125 cost less than 15 euros for the entire month of October 2007 in the Costa Brava region of Calonge near to the Pyrenees. Calyenty heaters are visually attractive and well built. The Calyenty heat pump is also considerably quieter than its competitors (in fact ½ the sound of a 1kw filter pump).

Its stainless steel case also makes it safe against corrosion. Most other heat pumps are only painted steel, or plastic which are vulnerable to the effects of rain or sun.

The titanium heat exchanger means the pump is safe in any kind of treated water and the Hitachi compressor is renowned for its efficiency and reliability.
